You don't go to Nike EYBL Peach Jam expecting an easy week. Every game is a test, every opponent is loaded with talent, and every possession matters.

For The Family 16U, the final 1-4 record only tells part of the story.

This Michigan group spent the week battling nationally respected programs, including Oakland Soldiers, CP3, Team Takeover, UPLAY Canada, and Iowa United. While the wins didn't come as often as they had hoped, the experience of competing against some of the best 16U teams in the country is something this group will carry with it moving forward. The tournament ended on a positive note with a hard-fought 56-54 win over Iowa United, a reward for the effort the team showed throughout the week.

The Family averaged 58.8 points per game while shooting just over 40 percent from the field. The outside shot wasn't always there, but the group never stopped competing. They defended, protected the rim, and stayed together even when facing some of the toughest teams on the EYBL circuit.

Lewis Lovejoy led the offense from start to finish. Averaging 14.8 points per game, he was aggressive looking for his shot and consistently gave The Family someone they could lean on when they needed a basket. Whether attacking off the dribble or creating in the half court, Lovejoy embraced the responsibility of leading the scoring effort.

Igniire Muhammad made his impact in just about every area of the game. He averaged 12.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.6 steals, bringing energy every time he stepped on the floor. His ability to defend multiple positions, create turnovers, and turn defense into offense made him one of the team's most disruptive players all week.

Carter George continued to show why he's one of the more dependable players in the rotation. He averaged 12.2 points and 5.2 rebounds while protecting the rim, finishing around the basket, and doing whatever the game asked of him. His versatility allowed him to contribute without needing the offense to run through him.

Julian Edison gave The Family another consistent scoring option, averaging 10.8 points while shooting better than 51 percent from the floor. He played under control, took quality shots, and made the most of his opportunities throughout the tournament.

In the paint, Ousmane Coulibaly gave the team valuable minutes with his rebounding and physical play. He averaged 5.5 points and 5.3 rebounds while finishing efficiently around the rim, providing the kind of interior presence every team needs in a tournament like Peach Jam.

The rest of the rotation embraced whatever role was needed. Tyree Anthony, Jayden Charles, Qualaeb Ross, and King Pierce-Black all gave meaningful minutes, bringing effort, defense, and toughness against some of the strongest competition in the country.

Peach Jam has a way of exposing weaknesses, but it also reveals what teams are made of. The Family 16U never stopped competing, never backed down, and continued to fight through one of the deepest fields in grassroots basketball.
