Player Spotlight: Latrell Allmond – Inside-Out Versatility with Toughness
08/18/2025

Latrell Allmond, once an undersized big, has grown into a legitimate inside-out four with a broad frame, long arms, and a physical style of play. His offensive game has evolved to make him a versatile scoring option, while his rebounding and defense remain constants.
Offensively, Allmond is still at his best in the lane. He possesses a true post game, showcasing excellent footwork both before and after the catch. He understands how to seal defenders, create angles, and generate his own shot inside. On the glass, he’s highly productive, averaging 8.1 rebounds per game in 3SSB play, with 2.8 offensive rebounds, showing relentless energy in extending possessions.
His face-up game has expanded significantly. He’s comfortable at the high post, has a smooth mid-range jumper, and is now stretching defenses with the ability to make rhythm step-in threes, connecting at 36% from beyond the arc on nearly three attempts per game. He can put the ball on the floor to either side and finish plays, though his release point inside can limit efficiency (54% FG on non-dunks). He also shows flashes of playmaking, though decision-making and turnovers (2.1 per game) are still a work in progress.
Defensively, Allmond brings energy and versatility. He can slide his feet against perimeter players, body up bigger opponents inside, and provide rim protection, averaging 1.9 blocks per game along with 0.8 steals. His physical presence combined with active hands makes him a disruptive force.
While Allmond was an early bloomer and will turn 19 in his senior year, limiting some of his untapped physical upside compared to peers, his growth lies in his expanding versatility. His ability to blend inside scoring, outside shooting, rebounding, and defense makes him a valuable two-way forward and one of the more polished players in his class.
